THE STORY
Heath Hayes
Heath Hayes grew up around the trades. Construction was part of his family, and Heath spent his childhood on job sites learning what it meant to show up prepared and do the work right. That foundation stayed with him.
But Heath had a different path in front of him. He earned a baseball scholarship to San Diego State University and was drafted by the Cleveland Indians. He played seven years of professional baseball, retiring from the game at 30.
That is a career most athletes spend their whole lives trying to reach.
Seven years teaches you things you cannot learn anywhere else. It teaches you to execute under pressure. It teaches you that preparation is the only thing standing between a good outcome and a failed one. It teaches you that the players who last are not always the most talented. They are the ones who show up ready, who do the work when no one is watching, and who earn their teammates’ trust over time.
When his playing career ended, Heath did not walk away from those habits or the trades. He stepped in and ran a family general contracting business. At the same time, he built a baseball academy that worked with players from six years old all the way up to Division I and professional level. He gave hitting and catching lessons for twenty years. He scouted for a sports agency. And while all of that was happening, he was building Durabuild Construction into what it is today.
Durabuild has been the result of everything that came before it. The trades he grew up in, the discipline he learned on the field, and the standards his family set on every job.
Today Durabuild serves the full Treasure Valley with over 25 years of industry experience behind every project. Certified by Trex, TimberTech, BBQ Guys, and RTA Outdoor Kitchens. Licensed, insured, and warranty-backed on every job, with access to a full-service design showroom in Meridian where homeowners can meet with an interior designer at no charge.
Heath lives in the Treasure Valley with his wife, four kids, and two dogs. When he is not on a job site, he is probably camping or at a game or practice for one of his kids.
